Education Design development through all RIBA stages
Our consultancy is unique, we are educationalist, we have significant experience as school leaders in the education sector, we have partners who are currently Trust leaders in the English education sector. We use this knowledge and expertise to work with you to ensure that education is at the centre of every RIBA stage of development. We understand Value Engineering (VE) and can support you in carefully balancing the needs of the client and demands of complex project budgets and costs. We understand the needs of headteachers and school leaders and we can work with you to guide the design process, to help reduce the pressures on the client and ultimately, deliver an outstanding capital build project. We have a proven record of successfully developing world class school designs that reflect the ambition for the future of education. We have experience in engaging with schools, clients, end users and contractors to deliver design development through all stages of RIBA implementation.

"Nick has been a great asset to the projects that we have been involved in. It is unusual to have an educationalist with such in-depth knowledge of architecture and design. At the Fairwater campus in Cardiff we worked together as Architects and Educationalist to develop an extensive and ambitious “design brief” that described the functions and goals for each space and its link to the new curriculum. We developed this brief into adjacency diagrams and a detailed schedule of accommodation. This information was issued to the D&B bidders and allowed them to produce detail designs that matched the users requirements.Nick was key to developing the designs from concepts to construction detail, and was able to represent the schools interest to ensure the ambition of the design brief was not diluted by contractors. He worked hard to keep the school stakeholders of heads, staff, and students engaged in the design development.
