About

Nick Short founded the organisation after over 15 years in Education, he was a Principal of a 3-18 Academy Trust and had experience in school leadership as well as education capital build programmes.  Nick has worked extensively in the education sector in London and the West of England. This consultancy was established as a result of a growing need in the education sector for specialist leadership support and advice. Nick Short EDU uses experienced Headteachers in schools to support, coach and guide leaders to help them make their institutions stronger. The organisation also specialises in developing world class capital build programmes. We work extensively with architects, construction companies, local authorities and school leaders in new school construction. The consultancy supports from the outset with vision development and provides guidance throughout all RIBA stages.  The consultancy is currently providing the lead educationalist on the largest capital build programme in Wales.

Nick Short is a former 3-18 Academy Principal and experienced education consultant with a secure understanding of how to support organisations in delivering improved systems and structures. A strong knowledge base with experience in supporting new school design from the establishment of the vision, through the tender process and RIBA implementation. A passion for engaging with young people and ensuring that they have an opportunity to contribute to system change in order to better our education system.

Nick has proven record of successfully developing world class school designs that reflect the ambition for the future of education. He has experience of engaging with schools, clients, end users and contractors to deliver design development through all stages of RIBA implementation.

An accredited Level 3 qualified Leadership Coach, Neil has much experience in supporting high level professionals. Neil has led and contributed to a number of education new building programmes and also supported a number of capital bid applications.

Vicki Starkie

Vicki is an inspirational leader, specialising in curriculum and pastoral leadership in schools. Vicki has significant experience in child protection and alternative provision. Vicki has sent up successful private pupil referral units that allow the most challenged pupils to thrive. Vicki has also supported new build projects and has experience in developing new schools. As a Headteacher, Vicki has led change in her own new schools and has supported numerous other schools in their own journeys.
